A multi faceted bulk retail and shopping mall complex. Initially conceived as a bulk retail complex configured around an external street framework, The Base has developed to incorporate both internal and external retail formats. Mansergh Graham were involved in the development of the concept from the initial consent application through to construction and implementation. MGLA developed a unique concept strategy which provided both hard and soft landscape design while accommodating a staged development.
The concept embraced both cultural and historic references to the site and surrounding environs while creating a unique and memorable contemporary retail experience. While utilising a consistent material palette, permutations in its expression create distinct quality within discrete areas throughout the development, to contribute to the overall richness of the scheme.
