Developing community through public space and connectivity.

A green field subdivision development which focusses on integrating open natural elements into the overall scheme. The retention, rehabilitation and naturalisation of wetlands and streams integrate functional ecological green space as part of the overall subdivision.

Community parks and nodes are connected through street planting, raingardens and large tracts of native vegetation which also act to buffer the residential development from the adjacent transport corridors.  Public open space is developed around existing protected trees to provide areas of active and passive recreation within 3 minutes’ walk of residences within the Stage 1 development area.

A distinctive feature was made of the utilitarian timber crib wall which backdrops the stormwater wetland, by integrating a Māori weaving pattern which references the Waikato River, into the scheme.
