This project created a coherent and connected context for a much need redevelopment of a brownfield site.
This project responds to the cultural and spiritual aspects intrinsic to the site and surroundings. A range of spaces seamlessly transition from one to another while meeting various public and private occupant requirements.
As a result of an iterative consultation process, different levels of interpretation are provided throughout the spaces, some explicitly telling their story, while others reward more attentive observation.
The overall scheme is cohesive, with the developments brought together using a consistent colour palette and materials, while variation in the manipulation of the materials helps provides legibility of the discrete spaces within the design.
The project included:
- Concept design.
- Resource consent plans.
- Developed design.
- Working drawings through to construction observation.
